QR codes placed at desks, parking spots, and other resources let you check in or make a new booking instantly by scanning with the deskbird mobile app — no need to search for your booking manually.
1. Scan a QR code to check in
- Open the deskbird mobile app.
- Go to Bookings > Upcoming bookings and tap Check in next to your booking.
- Your device camera opens automatically.
- Point the camera at the QR code displayed at the desk or resource.
- deskbird confirms your check-in and updates the booking status to
Checked in.
💡 QR code check-in works regardless of your company's check-in setting — even if QR codes are not the required method, scanning still completes your check-in.
2. Scan a QR code to make a new booking
If you arrive at a desk that is available and you have not made a booking in advance, you can use the QR code to book it on the spot:
- Open the deskbird mobile app.
- Scan the QR code at the desk using the app's QR scanner.
- deskbird detects that you do not have an existing booking for that resource and redirects you to the booking confirmation page.
- Confirm the booking to reserve the space for today.
💡 This only works if the space is currently available. If the desk is already booked by someone else, the app will indicate it is unavailable.
3. FAQs
Yes. QR code scanning is only available in the deskbird mobile app on iOS or Android. You cannot scan QR codes from the web app or MS Teams integration. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
deskbird redirects you to the booking page for that specific resource, where you can confirm a new booking on the spot. If the resource is already booked by someone else, you will see it as unavailable and will need to find a different space.
