1. The Schedule tab
The Schedule tab is your home base for weekly planning in deskbird. It opens by default when you log in and shows a week-at-a-glance view of your planned statuses. From here you can:
- See your status for each day of the current week
- Click any day to set or update your status
- Switch to the Colleagues tab (next to Personal feed) to see your team's week
💡 If your company has the Desks add-on active, selecting Office for a day will also prompt you to book a desk.
2. Set your status for a day
To set or change your status for a specific day:
- Go to the Schedule tab.
- Click on the day you want to plan — for example, Today or Tomorrow.
- Select your preferred status from the options shown:
OfficeMobile workAbsentBusiness travelHoliday
- Confirm your selection. Your schedule updates immediately.
⚠️ The status options shown depend on what your company has configured. You may see different or additional statuses.
Status reset after cancelling a booking: If you cancel your last desk (or parking) booking for a day when your status is set to Office, deskbird will prompt you to update your status. You can switch to another status, reset it, or leave it as Office. This keeps your team's attendance data accurate.
3. Plan multiple days at once
Instead of setting each day manually, you can use Weekly preferences to apply a recurring schedule automatically.
- Click your profile picture or initials in the bottom-left corner.
- Select Your preferences.
- Choose your preferred status for each weekday (Monday through Friday).
- Click Save.
deskbird will apply your preferences up to two months in advance and keep rolling the schedule forward automatically each month. You can update your preferences at any time.
💡 Saturday and Sunday are not supported by Weekly preferences. Calendar sync for weekly preferences statuses is not available due to limitations from Microsoft and Google.
4. View your colleagues' schedules
To see when colleagues plan to be in the office or working remotely:
- In your Schedule tab, click on any day. A side panel opens showing who is scheduled to be in the office that day.
- To follow a colleague so their status appears in your feed, click Follow colleagues, then click the ⭐ next to their name. A purple star means you are following them.
- For a full weekly view, switch to the Colleagues tab (next to Personal feed). Use the dropdown to filter by All, Following, or a specific group.
💡 Depending on your company's privacy settings, some colleagues may not appear in the schedule view.
5. FAQs
Yes. Click the day in your Schedule tab and select a new status at any time. Depending on your company's settings, you may be able to edit past days as well. If your company requires manager approval for schedule changes, submitting a new status will trigger the approval workflow.
Half-day scheduling lets you set two different statuses for the same day — for example, Office in the morning and Mobile work in the afternoon. This feature must be enabled by your company admin. See Use half-day scheduling for full instructions.
