Half-day scheduling lets you plan two different work statuses for the same day — for example, Office in the morning and Mobile work in the afternoon. This is useful when you split your day between locations or need to record a partial absence.
1. What half-day scheduling is
When half-day scheduling is enabled by your company, each working day is split into two periods: a morning half and an afternoon half. The exact split time is configured by your admin (for example, 13:00). You can assign a different status to each half — covering scenarios like:
- Working from the office in the morning, then remotely in the afternoon
- Taking a half-day absence while still coming in for part of the day
- A business trip that starts or ends mid-day
💡 Half-day scheduling must be enabled by your company admin before it appears in your Schedule tab. If you do not see this option, contact your admin.
2. Set a half-day status
Once half-day scheduling is active, each day in your Schedule tab shows two slots instead of one.
- Go to the Schedule tab.
- Click the day you want to plan.
- Select a status for the morning (first half of the day).
- Select a different status for the afternoon (second half of the day).
- Confirm your selection. Both statuses are saved and visible in your schedule.
You can set the same status for both halves if your day is not split — the result is equivalent to a full-day status.
3. Edit or remove a half-day status
To update or clear a half-day status:
- Go to the Schedule tab and click the day you want to change.
- Click the morning or afternoon slot you wish to update.
- Select a new status, or choose No status (if available) to clear that half.
- Save your changes.
⚠️ If your company uses a hybrid work policy with manager approval, editing a half-day status on an already-submitted schedule may trigger a new approval request. See Submit your schedule for manager approval for details.
