With Events, you have a powerful tool to motivate employees to come to the office, connect with colleagues, and increase transparency around company gatherings. Whether you're planning office-wide events, team meetups, hybrid gatherings, informal social events, or company-wide announcements, deskbird's Events feature enables seamless organization and engagement.

Weβve expanded the Events feature to offer greater flexibility and accessibility:

Admin-Controlled Event Creation
- Previously, only Global Admins could create events. Now, Office Admins can also create events by default.
- Additionally, Global Admins can enable or disable event creation permissions for Group Managers, Managers, and Users, allowing more flexibility based on organizational needs.

Event Creation from the Personal Feed
- If enabled by admins, users, managers, and other roles can create events directly from their personal feed, making it even easier to set up and share events.

How do Events work?
Admins can enable or disable event creation permissions for different roles in their organization.

Creating an Event
- Admins and Managers (if enabled) can create events via the Admin Page β Events.
- Users (if enabled) can create events via the Personal Feed, just below the calendar component.
- Organizers can invite specific employees, user groups, or multiple offices to the event.
- All invited users receive an email notification when an event is created or updated.
Calendar Integration
- Automatic Sync: Events created in deskbird are automatically synced to Google and Microsoft calendars, ensuring users never miss an event.
- .ICS File: When a user responds "Yes" or "Maybe" to an event, a .ics file is sent to their email for easy calendar integration.
- Event Status:
- Confirmed attendance β Marked as Busy in the calendar.
- Maybe attending β Marked as Free in the calendar.
- Declining the invitation β Calendar entry is automatically removed.

Email Notification Preferences
Users can customize their email notifications for event invitations to ensure they receive only relevant updates.
