With Hybrid work policies, deskbird now offers a user-friendly way to implement hybrid work policies that ensure both flexibility and compliance. This feature is designed to address these needs, helping organizations to adapt to changing work environments while maintaining productivity and employee satisfaction.
Â
1. Set attendance policies
Global admins can set a range of days employees are expected to be in the office or work from home, providing flexibility for employees to choose which specific days to come in.
To set these parameters, navigate to the Admin Portal and to the new Hybrid work policies tab. Click on the Add policy button and enter the details you need:Â
Â
Â
2. Assign the policy
Admins can decide whether to apply the policy at an individual or a company-wide level.
If you want to assign the policy to a single employee, start typing their name, surname, or email address. If you would like to assign the policy at a company-wide level, you can tick the box on the left side of the search bar:
Â
Â
💡 Soon, admins will be able to assign policies to user groups, too.
Â
3. Guarantee a flexible approach
Admins can define which status options are considered on-site or remote. This flexibility helps employees to be aware of what counts as an office day.
For this, go to the Hybrid work policies tab. Next to the Add Policy button, you will find another button called Custom status settings. When you click on it, you will see a pop-up with the list of your status options that are also visible in the Schedule section of our web and mobile apps. There, you can decide whether a status should be considered on-site or remote.Â
For example, if business trips are part of your on-site policy, click the circle in the on-site column. Similarly, if you have a specific status for online workshops (e.g., Learning), you can mark it as remote.
Â
Â
On both the mobile and web app, users can quickly see which statuses are considered remote and which are on-site.
Â
💡 The statuses are customizable by our Support Team. If you want to remove, change or add a status, please contact them at support@deskbird.com.
Â
4. Quick overview from the deskbird feed
Employees can view their compliance status directly on their deskbird feed, both from the web and the mobile apps. This makes it easy to get a quick overview of the days that they are required or still missing to reach the policy:
Â
Â
5. A win-win for managers and employees
With Hybrid work policies, deskbird removes the need for time-consuming and manual calculations of how many days employees have been at the office or at home.Â
With this feature, employees’ attendance is automatically tracked. Management of attendance policies saves time and minimizes human errors, allowing managers to focus on other tasks.
Also, when you set minimum or maximum days for working from home or coming to the office, you are encouraging employees to plan their week autonomously while providing a clear framework.Â
Â
