Users do not need to check in when they arrive at the office.
2. Simple check-in
With this setting, users can check in by clicking on the Check In button in their Web, MS Teams or the deskbird mobile app.
If you want to activate the check-in, you can set the time by which users need to check in. This step is also customizable and depends on your needs and preferences:
For example, you may consider that employees could get stuck in a traffic jam or a bad storm, resulting in them coming later to the office than initially planned.
deskbird is also all about people. Whenever an employee returns to the office after working from home, it's nice to catch up over coffee with their colleagues. It may take some time, though, and they may forget to check in. In cases like these, a more flexible auto-cancelation policy (e.g. until 10 am) may be helpful.
💡 Did you know that even if you use the simple check-in, users can still check in by scanning the QR code of the respective desk with their smartphone camera (if your company is using QR codes)? If they check in by scanning the QR code, they will be redirected to the check-in page if they have already booked that desk.
3. QR-codes only
In this case, users must scan the QR code with their deskbird app to check in. Therefore, deskbird users must install the deskbird mobile app to check in.
To check in on the day of the booking, they then need to go to their booking overview and click Check in. A little QR code symbol will appear next to it. Their camera will open, and they can scan the QR code to check in. Read more about QR codes here.
💡 This is a very restrictive setting, and you should only use it if you want to ensure that people are present when they check in. If checking in with a QR code still sounds like your cup of tea, you can create your customized QR codes by following these instructions.
💡 It is equally important to note that users can scan QR codes regardless of which check-in type they choose (even if the login option is disabled), to complete a booking. By scanning the QR code, clicking on the link, they will be redirected to the booking page of the specific desk within the deskbird app and can confirm the booking with one click.
