If you arrive at an office without a pre-registration or visitor code, you can register yourself as a walk-in visitor directly at the on-site deskbird kiosk. Your host is notified as soon as you complete registration.
1. Register at the kiosk as a walk-in
The kiosk is the tablet at or near the reception area. To register as a walk-in visitor:
- On the kiosk welcome screen, select Manual.
- Enter your first name and last name when prompted.
- Enter your company name, or tap Skip if not applicable.
- Specify who you are visiting by entering a name or searching the list. If you are unsure, select I don't know.
- Review your visit summary — this screen shows your host, the current date and time, and your personal details.
- Tap Continue to complete your registration and check-in.
A confirmation message appears on screen once you have successfully registered.
💡 The kiosk supports multiple languages. Tap the language selector in the top-right corner before you start if you prefer a different language.
2. What happens next
After you complete the walk-in registration:
- Host notification — The person you specified as your contact is notified immediately via Microsoft Teams or email. If you selected I don't know, the office's designated default host is notified instead.
- Live dashboard — Your visit appears in real time on the deskbird visitor dashboard, so reception staff can see you are on site.
- Badge printing — If badge printing is configured at this office, your visitor badge is printed automatically after you complete registration.
3. FAQs
No. The walk-in registration is entirely self-service on the kiosk tablet. You do not need a deskbird account, the deskbird app, or any login credentials. Simply follow the steps on the kiosk screen.
Select I don't know when prompted for your contact person. The office's default host — typically a receptionist or office manager — will be notified and can assist you on arrival.
Walk-in registrations do not generate a confirmation email because no email address is collected during the kiosk flow. Your check-in is confirmed on screen and recorded in the visitor dashboard for office staff to see.
