deskbird lets you personalise which notifications you receive and how — by email, push notification, or Microsoft Teams message. All notification preferences are managed from your profile settings and take effect as soon as you save.
1. Notification types
The following notification types are available in deskbird:
- Schedule reminders — a weekly prompt to plan your hybrid work week, sent only if your week has not been scheduled yet. Available as email and push notification.
- Schedule changes — a notification when a manager changes your schedule. Available as email.

Calendar invites (desks and parking) — an email containing an .ics file for every desk or parking booking you make, so you can add it to your calendar. Also sent via Slack if you have connected the Slack app. Events are created as
freeso they do not block your availability. - Check-in reminder (desks and parking) — a reminder sent around the start of your booking to prompt you to check in and avoid automatic cancellation. Available as Microsoft Teams message, email, and push notification.
- Booking updates (desks and parking) — a notification when your booking is updated or cancelled. Available as Microsoft Teams message.
- Check-in reminder (meeting rooms) — same as above, but for meeting room bookings. Available as Microsoft Teams message, email, and push notification.
- Booking updates (meeting rooms) — a notification when your meeting room booking is updated or cancelled. Available as Microsoft Teams message.
- Follow requests — a notification when a colleague requests to follow you, or when someone accepts your follow request. Available as email.
💡 The "No desks or parking spots available" notification is sent automatically when an automated booking cannot be completed because all suitable spaces are taken. This notification cannot be turned off.
2. Manage notifications in the web app
- Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the web app and select Profile.
- Go to the Notifications tab.
- Use the toggles to enable or disable each notification type and delivery channel (email, push, or Teams).
- Click Save to apply your changes.
3. Manage notifications in the mobile app
- In the deskbird app, tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Notification preferences.
- Toggle each notification type on or off as needed.
- Tap Save to confirm.
⚠️ Push notifications on mobile also depend on your device-level notification permissions. If push notifications are toggled on in deskbird but you are still not receiving them, check that notifications are enabled for the deskbird app in your phone's system settings, and that your device is not in Do Not Disturb or Focus mode.
