In this article, you will find out how you can plan your work week and how to receive updates from your (favorite) colleagues on your feed.
1. Personal Feed
If your company has (also) activated the Schedule add-on, when you open the deskbird web app or mobile app, your Personal Feed is the first page you will see.
You can see Today, Tomorrow, and the subsequent days.
You can set your status simply by clicking on the option you prefer: Office, Home Office, Absent, Business Travel, Holiday. Please note that these are the standard options, but they can be customized as per your company's request so that they may read slightly differently.
If your company has also activated the Booking add-on, when you click Office, you can easily add a booking. To learn more about booking a desk, click here.
2. Colleagues
deskbird is built around people, not buildings. Your colleagues make up your Office - so why not follow your favorite ones to check if they're also coming to the Office or working from home?
To do so, click on any day on your personal feed (e.g. Today). This window will pop up on the right side of the screen. When you click Start following colleagues, a list of your colleagues will appear. Depending on the privacy settings of your company, you might not see all of your colleagues.
To follow someone, click on the little star on the right. If the star becomes purple, it means that you're now following this colleague!
You can follow all the colleagues you wish in order to get an update on them in your Personal feed.
Let´s say you have followed these colleagues. When clicking a day, e.g. Today, will show them in your Personal feed if they are coming to the office that day.
For this reason, we recommend adding your profile picture – it makes your personal feed more interesting and colorful!
Now that you have set up your profile and chosen which colleague(s) you want to follow, find out what else you can do in the Schedule section.
Click on the Colleagues tab next to Personal feed, and you will see:
- Your week, according to the selected timeframe on the upper right corner of the page. This means you can also see the previous and upcoming weeks.
- Depending on your privacy settings, you might be able to select certain user groups by clicking on "Following" in the top-right corner.
💡 If you see a small picture of someone, e.g. your manager or the (global) admin at your company on the upper left corner of a button, this means that they have booked your desk for you.
